Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 May 2026
By accessing or using wagebystate.com (the "Site") you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site. We've kept these terms readable. They cover what the Site is, what it isn't, and how you can use the content.
1. About the Site
WageByState is a free public-information website that aggregates US salary and wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) programme and other public sources. The Site is operated independently and is not affiliated with the BLS, the US Department of Labor, or any government agency.
2. Use of the Site
You're welcome to use the Site for personal, non-commercial research. You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download the Site at a rate that disrupts service for other users.
- Republish substantial portions of the Site's content as your own without attribution.
- Attempt to interfere with the security or integrity of the Site.
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
Reasonable use of small extracts (a single salary figure, a state ranking, a quoted statistic) with a link back to the source page is permitted and encouraged.
3. Accuracy and limitations of data
The salary data on this Site is sourced from the BLS OEWS programme (most recent release: May 2024) with regional adjustments applied for the current year. We make every reasonable effort to ensure accuracy, but:
- Salary figures are statistical estimates, not guarantees of what any individual will earn.
- BLS data is updated annually and may lag actual market conditions.
- Calculator results (take-home pay, tax estimates) are approximations using current federal and state tax brackets and should not be relied on for tax filing or financial planning.
- Minimum wage figures reflect our best understanding at the time of publication; check your state labor department for the legally authoritative rate.
4. Not professional advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes financial, legal, tax, career, or employment advice. The Site is for general informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified professional before making employment, financial, or relocation decisions based on the data shown here.
5. Intellectual property
The underlying salary data is sourced from public-domain US government data and remains in the public domain. The Site's editorial content (page layouts, written summaries, design, branding, the WageByState name) is © 2026 WageByState.com and is protected by copyright. You may quote brief extracts with attribution and a link back to the source page.
6. Third-party links and ads
The Site contains links to third-party websites and may display third-party advertisements. We're not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of third-party sites. Inclusion of a link or ad is not an endorsement.
7. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WageByState and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Site is limited to USD $100.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
