Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 May 2026
WageByState ("we", "us", "our") operates the website wagebystate.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it short and in plain English.
1. Information we collect
We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to use WageByState. The information we do collect falls into two categories:
- Anonymous analytics data — pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country/state level), device type, and referring website. This is collected via standard analytics tools and is not tied to your identity.
- Information you voluntarily provide — if you contact us via email or any contact form, we receive whatever information you choose to send (name, email, message).
2. Cookies and tracking
WageByState uses cookies for analytics and to deliver advertising. Specifically:
- Analytics cookies — to understand how the site is used and improve content quality.
- Advertising cookies — third-party advertising partners (including Google AdSense and any future ad network we use) may set cookies to serve relevant ads. These partners may collect information about your visits to this and other sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings or use ad-blocking software. The site will continue to work normally without cookies, though some personalised ads will be replaced with generic ones.
3. How we use the information
We use the information we collect to: (a) operate and improve the website, (b) understand which content is useful to visitors, (c) respond to your enquiries, and (d) display advertising that helps fund the site. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
4. Third-party services
We use the following categories of third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Web analytics providers
- Advertising networks (such as Google AdSense)
- Hosting and content delivery providers
You can review Google's advertising privacy practices and opt out of personalised ads at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
5. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: (a) request a copy of personal information we hold about you, (b) request deletion of that information, (c) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and (d) object to certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@wagebystate.com and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
7. Children
WageByState is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect the limited information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
